COLUMBUS, Ohio — As the weather gets colder, officials with AAA are helping teens get ready to take on the road this winter. This Wednesday and Thursday evening local AAA locations will host "Teen Night at the Garage."
The free classes will go over a variety of topics, including how to check your oil, tire pressure and wheel alignment. It will also touch on road safety issues and distracted driving.
AAA technicians will run the classes, which will give teens the chance to ask questions, free of judgment, to help them stay safe on the roads.
"A lot of times we get road calls that are brought into our car care and teen drivers don't know what it is, so they just keep driving their car! And unfortunately, sometimes that's the worst thing they can do." said Scott Fogle, senior manager of Columbus AAA.

The events are free but registration is required. Door prizes, special gifts and more will be awarded.
AAA Car Care technicians will teach attendees about:
- Oil change
- Air and cabin filters
- Wiper blades
- Cooling system
- Battery maintenance
- Tires and wheel alignment
- Traffic safety
AAA Travel advisors and insurance experts will also be on hand.
