HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio - A 94-year-old man was rushed to a Columbus hospital to be treated for severe burns after a lawnmower caught fire in Hocking County.
The Starr Township Fire Department said the fire started Thursday afternoon when the man was working on the lawnmower in a shed on a property on Main Street in Union Furnace.
Neighbors told firefighters they reported hearing an explosion.
The fire spread to an adjacent garage and SR-328 was closed due to the fire.
The road has since reopened.
The Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office has been called to investigate the fire.
