COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Board of Education approved a list of six candidates on Tuesday for the open superintendent position.
The board had to re-start the search process after the Ohio Auditor of State, Dave Yost, informed them that their previous search was in violation of the state's Open Meetings Law.
The candidates are below with their current jobs according to the Columbus Dispatch:
- Mr. Terry Dade, an assistant superintendent for Fairfax County Schools in Virginia.
- Dr. Talisa Dixon, superintendent of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City Schools
- Mr. L. Scott Inskeep, superintendent for Kettering City Schools
- Ms. Ava Tasker-Mitchell, an instructional director/assistant superintendent of schools for Prince George’s County Public Schools near Washington, D.C.
- Dr. John Stanford, current interim superintendent at Columbus City Schools
- Dr. Jayson Strickland, deputy superintendent for Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools
The board will meet on September 5 to consider the candidates and make their next determination.
