5 people, including juvenile, injured in 5 separate shootings in Columbus on Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five people, including one juvenile, were injured in five separate shootings around Columbus on Saturday.

Saturday, 12:08 a.m. - Northeast Columbus

Just after midnight on Saturday, officers were called to the 500 block of Elda Street in northeast Columbus on a report of a shooting.

Responding officers found a juvenile who had a gunshot wound to the upper body. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, but was stabilized and is expected to survive their injuries.

The events surrounding the shooting are under investigation.

Saturday, 5:52 a.m. - West Columbus

A woman was injured in a shooting early Saturday morning in west Columbus, police said.

Officers were called to the area of Interstate 270 and West Broad Street just before 6 a.m. on a report of shots being fired.

During an investigation, officers talked to the 911 caller who said a black car pulled up beside them on the highway and brandished a firearm. Gunshots were reportedly fired and the caller drove to a nearby gas station to meet police.

Then, around 6:15 a.m., officers were called to a nearby hospital on a walk-in shooting victim who said she was in the same area in her vehicle when she heard gunshots. She realized she had been hit by gunfire and took herself to the hospital, police said.

Saturday, 11:17 a.m. - Southeast Columbus

Police were called to the area of East Whittier Street and Rhoads Avenue in southeast Columbus shortly before 11:20 a.m. on Saturday for a report of someone with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.

Saturday, 10:44 p.m. - North Columbus

One person was injured in a shooting on the city’s north side Saturday evening.

The shooting happened on the 6200 block of Sunderland Drive around 10:45 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the face.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in life-threatening condition. Their condition was later upgraded, and police say they are expected to survive their injuries.

Saturday, 11:11 p.m. - Southeast Columbus

Columbus police were called to a hospital on a report of a walk-in shooting victim Saturday evening.

According to police, the victim went to the hospital after being struck by gunfire in the area of Interstate 70 and Livingston Avenue shortly after 11 p.m.

The victim is expected to survive their injuries.
