COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 40-year-old woman is dead and two others, including an 8-year-old, are injured after a crash in Pickaway County Thursday afternoon, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies with the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office were called to U.S. Route 62 in Darby Township around 12:45 p.m. on a report of a semitrailer flipped over. The caller told the sheriff’s office that it had struck a pole and was smoking.

Medics pronounced the driver of the Hyundai, Nicole Van Gundy, from Orient, dead at the scene. An 8-year-old in the Hyundai was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office said the driver of the semi was taken to Grant Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
