DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio — A 4-year-old boy was killed and seven other people, including three juveniles, were injured in a crash in Delaware County Saturday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
OSHP said they were called on a report of a crash on Moore Road at state Route 745 in Concord Township just after 4:05 p.m.
A Dodge Durango was traveling northbound on state Route 745 when a Honda Pilot traveling eastbound on Moore Road failed to stop at a stop sign, hitting the Durango.
The Pilot traveled off the eastbound side of state Route 745, striking a mailbox, fire hydrant and a tree and was overturned.
The Durango traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
A 4-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Pilot was transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital's Lewis Center branch where he died of his injuries.
Two adults who were in the Pilot were taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with serious injuries.
Two adults and a 16-year-old from the Durango were transported to Dublin Methodist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 7-year-old and a 9-year-old also in the Durango were transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital's Lewis Center branch with minor injuries.
OSHP said that all occupants in the Pilot were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. All occupants in the Durango were wearing seatbelts.
The crash remains under investigation.
