COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five people are injured after four separate shootings across the city on Sunday, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Columbus police is asking anyone with information on the following shootings to contact the Felony Assault Unit at 614-645-4141 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
East Long Street
The first shooting occurred at 1:12 a.m. in the 100 block of East Long Street in downtown Columbus.
When officers arrived, they initially did not find a victim at the scene.
Police said just before 3 a.m., a victim walked into Ohio State East Hospital with a gunshot wound. No information on the victim’s condition was made immediately available.
Soldano Boulevard
Three minutes later, around 1:15 a.m., police responded to a shooting in the 3000 block of Soldano Boulevard, just north of West Broad Street.
When officers arrived, they found shell casings as well as three storefronts that had been hit by gunfire. A short time later. two people walked into nearby hospitals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined they had been shot at the scene on Soldano Boulevard. Both victims are expected to be okay.
Zettler Road
Just after 1:45 a.m., police responded to another shooting in the 1000 block of Zettler Road, just south of East Livingston Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found one person suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center. No information on the victim’s condition was made immediately available Sunday.
It is unclear what led up to the shootings. No suspect information has been released at this time.
Around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, officers were called the 900 block of East 12th Avenue in the South Linden neighborhood on a report of a shooting.
When they arrived, officers found a victim inside a house with gunshot wounds to the lower body.
The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in serious condition but has since been upgraded to "stable."
No suspect information was released. It's unclear what led up to the shooting.
