LICKING COUNTY, Ohio — Four people were indicted Friday following a shooting earlier this month in Licking County that left a man dead.
Licking County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 3000 block of Albright Road in Hanover Township around 3:15 a.m. on Oct. 7 on a reported shooting. When deputies arrived, they found 48-year-old Dale Matson, of Newark, dead.
While investigating, detectives determined that the shooting was not a random act of violence. Numerous suspects were identified throughout the investigation.
The sheriff's office identified the suspects as 46-year-old Jason Castle, 44-year-old Travis Schwarz, 39-year-old Brandy Sunkle and 36-year-old Sasha Martin. All four suspects were arrested and charged.
Castle was indicted on two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault, Schwarz and Sunkle were indicted for two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault and Martin was indicted on one count of tampering with evidence.
All four pleaded not guilty in court on Oct. 29. Their bonds will remain in effect.
