The Scioto County Sheriff's Office said they, along with the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, may have dismantled one of the largest drug trafficking organizations in the county.
On November 28, the task force and Scioto County prosecutors presented their findings of an investigation involving the distribution of heroin, fentanyl, carfentanil and methamphetamine.
The grand jury returned a 94-count indictment charging 33 people with various felony offenses including trafficking in drugs, conspiracy to trafficking drugs, possession of drugs, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, illegal manufacture of drugs, kidnapping and felonious assault.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation has yielded in excess of 500 grams suspected heroin, 100 grams of suspected methamphetamine, four firearms, over $10,000 in cash.
