JACKSON, Ohio — Three people are dead after a plane crashed in southeast Ohio Saturday afternoon, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed the crash happened just after 12:30 p.m. near the James A. Rhodes Airport, southeast of Jackson.
A Piper PA-32 Cherokee Six crashed into a field approximately a quarter mile north of the airport, OSHP said.
The three victims were identified as Daniel Baker, 44, of Jackson, Zebulon Logan, 45, of Lucasville and Dan Baker, 75, of West Portsmouth.
OSHP said there were no other occupants in the plane at the time of the crash.
Barton and Keystone Station roads are closed while deputies investigate.
The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified and the incident remains under investigation.
