Sheriff: 3 juveniles injured in Pickerington crash involving stolen vehicle

According to Sheriff Alex Lape, a deputy attempted to stop a black Dodge Charger that was being driven recklessly at a high rate of speed on Hill Road.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Three juveniles inside a stolen vehicle were injured after fleeing from an attempted traffic stop by a Fairfield County sheriff’s deputy in Pickerington Sunday morning.

According to Sheriff Alex Lape, a deputy attempted to stop a black Dodge Charger that was being driven recklessly at a high rate of speed on Hill Road. The driver of the vehicle fled the area, avoiding the stop.

The deputy later found the Charger crashed and on fire in the 8400 block of Hill Road. 

The driver and two other occupants were pulled from the crashed vehicle and taken to local hospitals with injuries. Deputies later found out that the driver and occupants were all juveniles, and that the Charger was stolen from the Columbus area.

This incident is under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
