COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman was killed and two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in southeast Columbus Thursday evening, police said.
Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a crash just before 8:50 p.m. at Interstate 270 and Williams Road, located near Obetz.
Police said someone was heading west on Williams Road in a 2016 Jeep Wrangler while another person was driving east in a 2020 GMC Yukon. The GMC drove left of the centerline and struck the Jeep.
The Jeep went off the north side of the road and struck a guardrail before coming to a stop. The GMC continued east, struck the front of a 2023 Kia Sportage and hit a guardrail south side of the roadway before stopping. The Sportage spun clockwise and also struck a guardrail.
Police said the driver of the GMC, identified as 50-year-old Jerri Kincaid, was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital in critical condition. Kincaid was pronounced dead at 5:16 a.m.
The other two drivers were transported to Grant Medical Center and OhioHealth Emergency Care Obetz, where police described their conditions as "stable."
The crash remains under investigation.
