Circleville Pumpkin Show crowns 2024 giant pumpkin winner

This is the Liggett's third year in a row taking home first place.

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The Circleville Pumpkin Show has crowned its largest pumpkin of 2024.

This year's top prize went to Bob and Jo Liggett, whose massive pumpkin weighed in at 2,226 pounds.

At last year's show, the Liggetts set the state record for their 2,388.5-pound pumpkin. The previous record was set back in 2014 (1,964 pounds). That pumpkin was also grown by Bob.

This is the Liggetts' third year in a row taking home first place.

Coming not far behind in second place was Ray Anderson, who grew a 2,194-pound pumpkin. Rounding out the top three was Brandon Wiggins' pumpkin which came in at 1,895 pounds.

The Circleville Pumpkin Show kicked off on Wednesday with the opening ceremony. Following the Great Pumpkin Weigh-in was the Little Miss Pumpkin Show and Miss Pumpkin Show. 

About 100,000 people are expected to fill East Main Street and the surrounding streets over the next few days.
