COLUMBUS, Ohio — There's a new pumpkin champion in Circleville.
Bob and Jo Liggett are the winners of this year's largest pumpkin at the 2022 Circleville Pumpkin Show, weighing in at 1,837.5 pounds.
That's 13 pounds less than the 2021 champion, but still quite heavier than the 1,755 pound pumpkin that won in 2020.
The second-place pumpkin, owned by John Pritchard, weighed in at 1438 pounds and Brandon Wiggins' pumpkin took third place, weighing 1347 pounds.
The "Greatest Free Show on Earth" kicked off on Wednesday. About 100,000 people are expected to fill East Main Street and the surrounding roads.
