Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Delaware County Thursday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash, involving four vehicles, happened just before 11 a.m. on U.S. Route 23 between Lazelle Road and SR-750.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 55-year-old Robert Fish of Columbus was driving a Toyota Corolla northbound on US 23 when he traveled left of center and struck a Ford Focus head-on.

The Focus was forced into the right lane and into the path of a semi and was struck on the driver’s side.

A fourth vehicle was struck by debris from the initial collision.

The driver of the Focus was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital with serious injuries.

Fish was pronounced dead at the scene. Three passengers in his vehicle were also taken to Riverside Methodist.

One of those passengers, 54-year-old Lisa Hiles, from Columbus, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The other two passengers sustained serious injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said seatbelts were not being used at the time of the crash by everyone in Fish’s vehicle. All others involved were wearing their seatbelts.
