COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two teens are dead and several others are injured following a crash in north Columbus Saturday night, police said.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling northbound on Carmack Road approaching the West Lane Avenue intersection just after 11:15 p.m. The Chevrolet failed to stop for a red traffic light at the intersection and hit a 2023 Honda H-RV that was traveling eastbound on West Lane Avenue.
Two teen victims who were passengers in the Chevrolet were pronounced dead at the scene at 11:33 p.m. The Franklin County Coroner's Office identified them on Tuesday as 16-year-old Jabriel Osman and 15-year-old Jalen Daley.
Three other occupants of the Chevrolet were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries and are expected to be OK. The driver and passenger from the Honda were also transported to local hospitals with minor injuries and are expected to be OK.
The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
