COLUMBUS, Ohio — A teen was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years in connection to the fatal shooting of a man in his Madison County home last April, according to the London Division of Police.
Springfield resident Nilen Harner, 18, appeared in Madison County Court of Common Pleas and entered a plea of aggravated murder in the homicide of 29-year-old Jamie Crim, police said.
The shooting happened on April 21, 2023 in the 200 block of Washington Ave. in London. Officers were called to the home on a report of an unresponsive male.
Officers said that Crim was found by his girlfriend after she had returned home.
When officers arrived, they found Crim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Madison Health, where he later died.
One day after the shooting, a search warrant was executed on Terrace Drive in Springfield where Harner was ultimately apprehended. A handgun believed to be used in the shooting was recovered at the location.
During an investigation into the incident, police found that Harner had intended to commit a robbery at Crim’s residence.
