A 15-year-old drowned at Quarry Park in Marion on Saturday, police said.
Marion City Police told 10TV that a group of teenagers had been jumping off cliffs at the park, when one of them, identified as Shavon Reid of Columbus, began to have difficulties and yelled for help.
The Marion Fire Department said it received a call just after 3:10 p.m.
The Marion City Police Department, Marion City Fire Department, Marion Township Fire Department and the Marion County Sheriff's Office all responded to the scene.
After a nearly 3-hour search, authorities said Reid was found.
The Columbus City School District said Reid was a 10th grade student at Columbus Alternative High School.
The district said there will be counselors at the school on Monday.
