Fifteen people have been indicted as a result of a multi-county investigation into a drug trafficking organization across central Ohio.
According to the Major Crimes Unit in Fairfield County, Athens County, Logan and Circleville, the organization, which authorities say was dismantled, had ties to Dayton and was responsible for distributing more than 62.5 pounds of methamphetamine across Fairfield, Hocking, Pickaway and Franklin County.
The investigation began when Columbus police said Robert L. Phelps was a source of supply for meth. Authorities say he was supplying individuals with meth across multiple counties in central and southeastern Ohio.
The investigation resulted in 236 felony charges including engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Those charges included 35 felonies of the 1st degree, 90 felonies of the 2nd degree, 62 felonies of the 3rd degree, 38 felonies of the 4th degree and 11 felonies of the 5th degree.
Phelps, of Columbus, was indicted on dozens of felonies, including aggravated trafficking in drugs, trafficking in heroin and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
Also indicted were Micki McGee, Josh Dysart, Josh Swisher, Gary Rutherford, Angelique Morris, Kassandra Braden, Ericka Adcock, Nina Maestle, Chris Nixon, Kimberly Young, Trisha Maffin, Jonathan Wilson, Danielle Friesner and Michael Vandagriff.
