COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 14-year-old boy is injured after being struck by the Clinton Township Fire chief's vehicle on Friday, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Chief Brian Fraley exited the Clinton Township Fire Station on Cleveland Avenue with the lights and siren activated on his vehicle just after 8:30 p.m. while responding to an emergency call for service.
As the vehicle was heading north, a 14-year-old boy walked into the roadway and was struck. Columbus police said no crosswalks were posted in the area.
The boy was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital for treatment. He is expected to survive his injuries.
Columbus police said the Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
