13-year-old boy dies following shooting in southeast Columbus

Police said the case is being presented to the prosecutor's office because of the circumstances of this incident.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 13-year-old boy has died hours after being shot in southeast Columbus on Thursday, police said. 

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a shooting in the 4500 block of Monmouth Court, located north of Refugee Road,  just after 4:10 p.m. Police found Kamarion Woody who was shot.

Kamarion was taken to Mount Carmel East in critical condition. He later died at 1:50 a.m., according to police.

Columbus police did not release information about what led to the shooting but said that the case would be presented to the prosecutor's office because of the circumstances of this incident.
