LICKING COUNTY, Ohio — A 13-year-old student was arrested Sunday after they allegedly made a social media post threatening violence to several Licking County schools, according to Sheriff Randy Thorp.
The Newark Division of Police said a post made on Saturday threatened violence at Newark High School, Heath High School and Lakewood High School.
The Licking County Sheriff's Office and Heath Police Department identified the person who posted the threat online and identified them as a 13-year-old student. They did not specify what school the student attends.
The sheriff's office said that through an investigation, the threats were deemed as not credible as "the suspect had no means by which to carry out said threats."
It has been determined that there is no further threat to the schools or the community, the sheriff's office said.
It's unclear at this time if the teen will face charges.
Detectives and agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigations will continue investigating the incident.
