COLUMBUS, Ohio - It is a story 100 years in the making.

His first year with the band was just one year after its first performance of Script Ohio in 1936.

He returned to be a part of the Alumni Band this week and had the honor of dotting the "i" on Saturday at halftime of the football team's game against Tulane.

"I feel very humbled and very proud," Violi said.

"I'm going take the hat off. I'm going to bow down to the Ohio State side. Then, I'm going to turn around then iIm going to bow down to the visitors," Violi said describing what he would do on the field.

Violi is from Adena, Ohio and served in the Army in World War II.

He still plays in a community band and helps teach students at a local elementary school.

Dotting the "i" will be a moment that will always be special to Violi.

"I love this place," he said.

Violi has marched for almost every TBDBITL reunion game since the first one in 1966.
