COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man was shot during an attempted robbery outside a nightclub on the north side, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Officers were called to the Spain Night Club in the 6100 block of Busch Boulevard just before 2 a.m. following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. That person was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in serious condition.
Columbus police said two males were leaving a nearby bar when there were approached by three unknown individuals. The suspects showed handguns and attempted to rob the victims. One of the men was shot after refusing to give the suspects any items.
No arrests have been made.
Due to the severity of the victim's injured the Columbus Police Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.
