A 19-year-old was killed and three others were injured in a crash last week in Crawford County.

The one-vehicle crash happened July 24 on State Route 602 south of Henry Cooper Road.

According to the sheriff's office, a 2010 Mazda was traveling southbound on SR 602 with four people and a dog in the vehicle.

The driver was passing southbound vehicles and crested a hill near Henry Cooper Road when the driver swerved back into the southbound lane to avoid on-coming traffic.

The sheriff's office said the driver lost control, went off the west side of the roadway, struck a ditch and sheared off a telephone pole.

The vehicle went into a field and rolled several times before coming to a stop. One person, identified as 19-year-old Hailie Leal, and the dog were ejected from the vehicle.

Leal and the 20-year-old driver were taken to Bucyrus Hospital. Leal was pronounced dead at the hospital.  The dog was dead at the scene.

Another 19-year-old and a 15-year-old were flown from the scene to Grant Medical Center and Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.

The sheriff's office said no charges or citations have been issued and the crash remains under investigation.
