BUCYRUS TWP. -- The Bucyrus post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred at about noon Wednesday on Wyandot Road just north of Denzer Road in Bucyrus Township.
Troopers confirmed Stephenie M. Loveless, 33, of Bloomville was traveling southwest on Wyandot Road, driving a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, when she drove left-of-center and off the left side of the roadway into a ditch and then overcorrected back onto roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn several times before coming to rest on its roof in the middle of the roadway.
Passenger Robert C. Barringer Jr., 51, of Bloomville was not wearing a safety-belt and was ejected from the vehicle upon impact according to the patrol. Barringer was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Crawford County Coroner. Loveless, was also not wearing a safety-belt and was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. She was transported by LifeStar EMS to the Bucyrus Community Hospital and later air-lifted by Med-Flight to Grant Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol was not determined to be a factor in the traffic crash.
