COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was injured during a shooting near The Ohio State University's campus Monday evening, according to a spokesperson for the university.
Officers were called on a report of a shooting just before 8:30 p.m. in the area of John Herrick Drive and Olentangy River Road, located near the southern end of the university.
The university said a person flagged down a bus traveling on John Herrick Bridge and told the driver they had been shot.
Ohio State spokesperson Dan Hedman said the victim was transported to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and their condition is described as stable.
The victim told police he was shot by another man who he has had previous altercations with, the university said.
In a public safety notice, the suspect was identified as 31-year-old Richard Patridge.
Earlier this month, Patridge was accused of abducting a woman at gunpoint in east Columbus. The woman was later found safe.
