NEWARK, Ohio –One person was flown to a Columbus hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in Newark Tuesday night, according to Newark Police Chief Barry Connell.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Union Street after police received reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Shaqkeim Lloyd had been shot multiple times.
Lloyd was flown to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. His current condition is believed to be non-life-threatening.
The incident involved several different areas and at least one vehicle.
Connell said the initial call also indicated it was a possible robbery and one person was taken to the police department for questioning.
A second person had minor injuries but Connell said it was not clear if the person was shot.
One person was arrested at the scene after driving through the crime scene tape, Connell said. Connell said the driver had a warrant.
