COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police is investigating a shooting that left a man dead on the city's southeast side Tuesday afternoon.
Police say officers were called out to the 5600 block of Chatterton Road around 1:20 p.m. for a reported shooting.
First responders found 24-year-old James Dominick Macarrios O’Neal with a gunshot wound and pronounced him dead at the scene at 1:29 p.m.
According to police, O'Neal was seen talking with occupants of a dark colored vehicle on Chatterton Road. During a conversation, police say one of the occupants pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at O'Neal. The vehicle drove west on Chatterton Road.
