1 dead in Union County crash

Union County sheriff deputies are investigating a fatal crash that happened on Friday afternoon.

JEROME TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Union County sheriff deputies are investigating a fatal crash that happened on Friday afternoon.

According to deputies, the crash happened at the intersection of U.S. Route 42 and State Route 736 around 4:45 p.m.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found a truck that was traveling on southbound on U.S. 42 and hit a car.

Johanna Keiser, 86, of Plain City, was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies believe the car turned in front of the truck and was hit broadside.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.

The condition of the other people involved is not known.
