COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man was killed in a shooting Saturday morning in southeast Columbus.
Police say the shooting happened in the 3300 block of Balford Square South around 5:20 a.m.
According to police, officers arrived at the scene and found the victim, later identified as 44-year-old George Craft, laying on a walking path between two houses.
Despite an officer's efforts to perform life-saving measures on Craft, he was pronounced dead just after 5:30 a.m.
Police interviewed one witness at the scene.
There is currently no information about a suspect.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. There's no word on what led up the shooting.
This is the 117th homicide of 2021 in Columbus.
