MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- One person is dead in a fire at a home in Knox County.
According to the Mount Vernon Fire Department, crews were called to the 13000 block of Upper Fredericktown Road for a residential structure fire around 3 a.m. Monday.
According to the fire department, flames were showing from outside the home by the time crews arrived to the scene.
One person was found dead inside the home and another was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
The victim has not been identified.
The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist those living at the home.
The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating what may have caused the fire.
