Police ID victim fatally shot in downtown Columbus as 30-year-old man

It is unclear what led up to the shooting. No suspect information has been released at this time.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police identified the victim killed in a shooting early Sunday morning in downtown Columbus as a 30-year-old man. 

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 300 block of Marshall Passage, near East Main Street, just after 5:20 a.m. on reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found a man, identified as Raymundo Sanchez-Hernandez, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to Grant Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead at 6:10 a.m.

It is unclear what led up to the shooting. No suspect information has been released at this time.
