COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person is dead and two others were taken to the hospital after a vehicle crashed into a barrier on Interstate 71 Saturday morning in north Columbus.
Columbus police received a report of the crash shortly after 2:20 a.m. in the area of I-71 near Morse Road.
According to an updated release, a man was driving with three passengers northbound when he turned sharply onto the Morse Road exit ramp.
Police said the vehicle left the right side of the road and struck a sound barrier before overturning. All four people were ejected from the vehicle, according to police.
One passenger was critically injured and taken to Riverside Hospital, where she later died. Police said the two other passengers were taken to Grant Hospital and their condition was described as stable. The driver was uninjured in the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
