COLUMBUS, Ohio — A person is dead and another is injured after a crash on state Route 4 Sunday morning, according to the Crawford County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to the scene around 6:30 a.m. on a report of a crash north of Denzer Road.

According to the sheriff’s office, preliminary investigations show that a Ford Focus, driven by 19-year-old Daveon Brown, was headed northbound on Route 4 when it lost control and went off the side of the roadway. The Ford continued in the ditch before overturning and rolling.

Brown was ejected onto the road and was then struck by a Honda Accord that was traveling northbound. The Honda pulled over after the crash and the driver was not injured.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger who was in the Ford was taken to Bucyrus Hospital where they were treated and released.
