The pedestals in front of the Columbus Division of Police headquarters stood empty on Monday.
For years, two lion statues have guarded the building which is located along Marconi Boulevard.
The guardians were relocated to the new City Safety Building on Sunday morning.
City leaders did not immediately comment on the move.
