Teacher Shawn Kaeser wanted to teach his students about government and lawmaking, and they setout to make the bullfrog Ohio's official frog.

Students sent letters to lawmakers and Kaeser said the lesson incorporated civics and science.

For eight years, Kaeser kept the lesson alive in his classroom and on Monday studentsgathered to celebrate their accomplishment.

"Whatever we were doing in Mr. Kaeser's class we were excited because it was always a fun time, but this we especially got pumped up for the bullfrog," said student Evan Campbell.

The bullfrog is found in all of Ohio's 88 counties, and has been found in every state park.
