Lawsuit: Wife of Mount Carmel doctor among nurses who administered excessive doses of fentanyl

Mariah Baird is listed as the nurse in the medical records associated with the case involving 65-year old Jan Thomas.

COLUMBUS — The wife of Dr. William Husel is one of the nurses who helped administer painkillers to at least one of 34 patients the hospital says received excessive doses of fentanyl, 10 Investigates has learned.

Mariah Baird is listed as the nurse in the medical records associated with the case involving 65-year old Jan Thomas.

Thomas’s family is one of several wrongful death lawsuits filed against Husel, Mount Carmel Health System and nurses and pharmacists. Baird’s name was added to an amended version of the Thomas lawsuit, according to attorney David Shroyer.

William Husel and Baird were married in North Carolina in October of 2017, according to a copy of the marriage license obtained by 10 Investigates.
