Sheriff's deputies said that a man who had 30 days left on his sentence escaped from work detailon Thursday morning.
Clark County jail officials said that Dontez Marquise McWhorter was with a group of inmates in avan when he jumped out and ran after the driver stopped.
McWhorter, 18, was last seen heading south along Georgia Avenue in Springfield.
Deputies said that he was dressed in an inmate issued denim blue jacket and was wearing brownpants and an orange hat.
McWhorter is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has black hair and browneyes. Deputies said that he was serving a 90-day sentence for violating his juvenileprobation.
