HOUSTON — Four baby girls are finally home with their mom and dad and two big brothers, nearly three months after their birth in Houston.

Mercedes and Jonathan Sandhu welcomed the rare identical quadruplets at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women on May 1.

The babies were born healthy at 29 weeks gestation.

Hannah, Lucy, Rebecca and Petra weighed between 2 pounds and 7 ounces and 2 pounds and 13 ounces at birth and spent 85 days in the Texas Children’s Hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

They went home weighing between 6.5 and 7 pounds.

According to TCH, the quads shared a single placenta, an "incredibly rare occurrence."

They were conceived without any reproductive assistance.

Mercedes and Jonathan also have two boys, 4-year-old Luke and 20-month-old Aaron. The couple said the big brothers are eagerly helping Mom and Dad by holding bottles when the babies are fed. They're also giving lots of hugs and cuddles.
