A Genoa Township police K9 will make his final patrol on Sunday.
According to the police department, Brutus, who retired in March, will be put down.
The police dog was diagnosed with a disease similar to multiple sclerosis in humans, 10TV News reported last year.
On Sunday at about 2:15 p.m., Officer Jason Berner and Brutus will conduct their final patrol together in their favorite cruiser.
The two plan to leave the police station, located on Big Walnut Road, and will head south on Tussic Street.
They then will head across Mt. Royal Avenue to state Route 3.
The procession will end at Nash Animal Hospital, where the family will have a private ceremony.
The public is invited to line the route and pay tribute to Brutus.
