Ford is recalling more than 400,000 Windstar minivans in cold-weather states to fix brackets andmounts which could separate from the vehicle's subframe and could cause a driver to lose control ofthe vehicle.
The recall involves 425,288 minivans from the 1999-2003 model years sold or registered in 22states and the District of Columbia.
The government says if the mounts separate from the frame, the driver could experiencereduced steering control of the minivan.
The recall is the latest problem to affect the older Ford minivans.
Ford has recalled more than 600,000 of the minivans in the U.S. and Canada since August toaddress rear axles that can corrode and break.
