A fire has severely damaged the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.
“Well, it is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge that we knew is no more,” the post read.
The fire started shortly before 9 a.m. at the dining hall located on State Route 664 near Old Man’s Cave in Logan.
Twenty-five trucks were called to the scene from four different departments.
The building was not open to the public at the time and there are no reports of injuries.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, who owns the restaurant, says the dining lodge was undergoing renovation and there were construction workers inside who saw smoke. The construction crew alerted the staff and everybody was immediately evacuated, according to ODNR.
There was no immediate word on what started the fire. The State Fire Marshal is currently investigating a cause.
The Facebook post says the restaurant will be back to “start another generation’s memories of this gorgeous area.”
