A Jackson man remained in jail on Wednesday after he was accused in a murder-for-hire plot withhis son to kill his wife.
The arrests of Jeffrey and Tyrus Coyan shocked many in the community of 6,000 people, 10TV'sAndy Hirsch reported.
Investigators said that they were tipped off to the plot and had an undercover officer act as ahit man for hire.
A payment was made and both the father and his 19-year-old son were arrested shortly afterwards,Hirsch reported.
The arrest was the second murder-for-hire plot in Jackson in two years, Hirsch reported. In March 2008, Carol Evans, who was a retired principal and teacher, was slain in her farmhousejust outside the town. Her husband was charged with hiring a man to kill her. The courtcase is still pending.
