Investigators said on Wednesday that charges could be filed later this month in connection witha bomb scare that brought a portion of The Ohio State campus to a standstill in November.
Law enforcement sources said the suspect is a 25-year-old former student. His identity isnot being released because he does not yet face charges, 10TV's Kevin Landers reported.
On Nov. 16, several campus buildings, including The William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library, were evacuated and shut down after a bomb threat was e-mailed to the FBI. The message claimedthat someone had planted explosive devices inside the buildings.
No such devices were found.
Investigators said the suspect may have made the threat to avoid taking an exam, Landersreported.
The suspect spoke with 10TV News on Wednesday, claiming other people were involved in making thethreat.
"I was somewhat involved," he said. "It also involved other people. It involvedseveral events that were happening at Ohio State."
He did not elaborate further.
Court documents showed that the suspect was charged with burglary and theft about a month priorto the bomb threat. It was during that investigation that he told authorities about the bombscare, Landers reported.
