Former Ohio State defensive end Mike Vrabel posted bond on Monday after he was arrested fora theft at an Indiana casino.
Vrabel, who plays linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, was arrested at about 5:30 a.m. atthe Belterra Casino in Florence, Ind.
He was released later Monday morning after posting $600 bond. According to a report fromPro Football Talk, Vrabel was arrested for what, under Indiana law, is a Class Dfelony. If convicted, Vrabel could face a sentence of six months to three years inprison, according to the report.
Vrabel's agent, Neil Cornrich, issued a statement from Vrabel that said the arrest was theresult of "an unfortunate misunderstanding."
"I take full responsibility for the miscommunication," Vrabel said in the statement. "Ifeel comfortable that after talking with the appropriate parties, we will resolve this matter."
Vrabel, who also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots, is a member of theNFL player association's executive committee.
