Darius Rucker receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Hootie & the Blowfish will return to the road in 2024 as the foursome sets out on the Summer Camp with Trucks Tour with guests Collective Soul and Edwin McCain.

LOS ANGELES — Rock and country star Darius Rucker received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this month.

Rucker's star was the 2,766th star to be dedicated on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Rucker spoke at the ceremony and thanked his band, managers, family, and kids.

"The people I want to thank the most and the people I want to really give my heart to are those people that go out and they buy your record," he said.

Rucker first succeeded in the music industry as lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the Hootie & the Blowfish, who has sold over 25 million albums worldwide. Since releasing his first Country album in 2008, Rucker has earned a whole new legion of fans with four #1 albums on the Billboard Country chart.

Rucker was inducted as a Grand Ole Opry member in 2012, and in 2014, he won his third career Grammy Award for Best Solo Country Performance with his version of "Wagon Wheel" - one of the top five best-selling country songs of all time.

Hootie & the Blowfish will return to the road in 2024 as the foursome sets out on the Summer Camp with Trucks Tour featuring special guests Collective Soul and Edwin McCain, scheduled to tour from May 30 through September 28.

The group, comprised of Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, and Jim "Soni" Sonefeld, who formed the band as students at the University of South Carolina, will visit 43 cities across the U.S. and Canada.
