COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus City Schools announced all classes are canceled for Wednesday due to a transportation shortage and cold weather expected in the morning.
The school district tweeted Tuesday evening there will be no remote or in-person classes.
All athletic and extracurricular activities are also canceled.
Temperatures are expected to be very low, with wind chills dipping below zero at times.
Since winter break resumed, many schools have been forced to remove to remote learning at times due to staffing issues. Other schools have also canceled due to heating issues.
Last week, the school district emphasized the need for in-person learning after the Columbus Education Associated requested the district go to remote learning for two weeks.
The request was in response to several schools being forced to go to remote learning due to staffing shortages.
