Dye Pack Explodes Following Bank Robbery, Suspect Flees Area

Police are looking for a person who committed an armed bank robbery in northwest Columbus on Monday.

A person displayed a gun and got away with cash from a bank in northwest Columbus on Monday.

But, the suspect may have been hit with an exploding dye pack.

The Huntington Bank on Bethel Road was robbed just before 10 a.m.

Police say following the robbery, an exploding dye pack activated near an apartment complex behind the bank.

The suspect then fled the area on foot.

No employees were injured in the robbery.

Police believe the suspect is the same man that robbed the Cooper State Bank on West 5th Avenue on November 30. That's because both suspects wore the same or similar Buckeye clothing.

Authorities had to collect the money that was left behind by the robber, and they believe he got away with nothing.

Investigators will now look at other surveillance photos to try and determine if this suspect can be tied to other bank robberies.
