Two people, including a Columbus police SWAT officer, were hospitalized Wednesday night after afreeway crash that was apparently caused by a deer.
The crash occurred at about 9 p.m. along Interstate 70 on the city's east side.
According to police, the officer was traveling east along I-70 when a deer ran onto thefreeway. The officer swerved to avoid the animal, causing his SUV to cross the medianand strike another vehicle, 10TV News reported.

The crash closed both directions of I-70 for several hours.
The officer and the driver of the other vehicle were expected to be OK, 10TV News reported.
